Becky Donates to Cancer Lifeline South West
Becky was happy to donate a signed A4 print of Dartmoor for a raffle which is being held to raise money for Cancer Lifeline South West on 14th July following a 10k run in Chudleigh.
Cancer Lifeline Southwest provides residential therapeutic breaks for cancer sufferers and their carers, enabling them to meet fellow victims and to come to terms with the disease and its impact on their lives. It is a small charity and relies heavily on the work of individuals to support its work for cancer patients. It is based in Devon and only works with individuals in the South West.
Chudleigh´s Scrambled Legs running group was established in 2014 by Lisa after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The group´s aim is to raise money for Cancer Lifeline Southwest through running and various other fundraising activities as Lisa benefited greatly from Cancer Lifeline´s support when first taken ill by cancer. On 14th July, the Scrambled Legs will be running the Chudleigh 10 K again and this year they hope, as there are now 65 members of the Scrambled Legs, to exceed their target and raise £10,000 pounds for Cancer Lifeline!
Becky Donates to Local Fundraising Event for Local Mother
Becky was happy to donate a signed A4 'daydream believer' print for auction at the charity fundraising bootcamp on Sunday 9th July which is being held at Winners gym in Newton Abbot in aid of a local mum who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis. The event includes a 12 hour long bootcampathon at the gym and aims to raise £5,000 to buy an electric wheelchair to help mum Kerry Hallums.
Kerry was initially diagnosed in 2006 and continued to be very active until 2009 when the disease stopped her in her tracks prior to that she had worked as a dry ski slope instructor enjoying all forms of exercise and living a full and active lifestyle. Kerry has been prescribed various forms of medication to attempt to treat the disease or without success and this is now reliant on walking aids and is unable to get around on her own. The electric wheelchair will give Kerry back some of her independence that this cruel disease has taken away; allowing her to be safe in her home and to care for her young daughter.

Had an awesome school visit to Preston Primary School on 23rd February to celebrate art week. Well done to all the pupils and staff, all the creations and displays were amazing and thank you for doing your topic on my art. I feel very strongly about the importance of art in primary schools, it's not all about stats, maths and english.
"During our whole school art week, every year group worked in the style of different artists. The children in Years 1 and 2, looked closely at the work of Becky and created their own local landscapes in her style. The final pieces of work were amazing and all the children were very proud of their paintings. To meet the artist that they were studying was a wonderful experience for the children. They were so excited to meet Becky, where she talked about how she became an artist, how she designed her own work and shared the children’s work. She even signed every child’s painting which made it an even more memorable day for them!"

Becky visits children's seaside art project at Torre Primary School
What a super visit to Torre Primary School on 14 December 2016 meeting all the children who have put so much hard work in to creating a wonderful seaside project which was inspired by my vintage style. Their artwork pieces were fabulous with great use of colour and individual expression, they were a delight to see! Thank you to all the teachers, children and parents who came along to support and showcase the finished display.
"The children had spent a long time looking at Becky’s pictures and using their sketch books and watercolours to create some of the colours she uses in her work. They were then asked to create a picture in her style using jus the watercolours – ie: no drawing first and ‘colouring in’. This proved a challenge for some children but they persevered and the results were stunning. Some children used solid colour paper to create shapes such as cliffs or frees (in a style similar to Becky’s Torquay picture) They were also asked to think about captions for their pictures – many of these were linked to our work on Growth Mindsets ie: Dream Big, Life is out there etc etc.
During her visit Becky talked to the children about how she had become an artist and how she never gave up – the children thoroughly enjoyed her visit and many were inspired to create other pictures at home.
It would be great to work with Becky again if possible – Thanks Becky!"

Other charities Becky has supported ......
Becky designed and donated the artwork to promote Sarah Weldon's first world solo row in 2015
"In preparing for a world first solo row around the coast of Great Britain I wanted to have a poster and invitation for my launch event that would be British created and a celebration of the British coastline, whilst showcasing what I was planning to undertake. My brief to Becky was fairly loose and based on a very specific feature - my boat. What Becky created for me was a masterpiece that everyone fell in love with on first sight! I was a huge fan of Becky's work before, but even more so now and I can't wait to visit all the places that I've seen on her vintage posters".
