60@60 Challenge - Herald Express
I was thrilled to officially launch the South Devon AONBs 60@60 campaign encouraging more people to walk the S W Coast Path whilst raising money for Devon Young Carers. The initiative will benefit both the fund raisers and the young carers as spending time outside in this special landscape is so beneficial to mental and physical wellbeing especially after the recent months of lockdown. It is a privilege to be celebrating and promoting the natural beauty of the SW Coast Path which gives me inspiration for my artwork every day.
The challenge is to sign up over this 60th year to walk the 60 miles and raise money for these Devon Young Carer days out.
60@60 is a walking challenge with the best of views, the best of local food and drink and the best of company! It can be done entirely at your own pace, in your own time, and with your choice of walking buddy!
The money raised will enable 60 young carers days out during June and July 2021 to picnic, explore, play and have a go at activities including canoeing, surfing and snorkelling. They will have a wonderful day making brilliant memories, as a recognition for the amazing work they do for their families. The South Devon AONB will be working with Devon Young Carers and local outdoor activity organisations, as well as the South West Coast Path Association.
You will be able to see an interactive map on the website and the key places along the route are marked with my artwork. They are hoping to raise £6,000 but let's all try and make that a lot more. 2020 has been a year where many have had holidays cancelled so why not make this a holiday staycation adventure!
