Becky's Artwork helps Children and Families in Hospital in North Devon

Care for Kids are a local charity in North Devon who support families who have children in long term or regular hospital care.  They help families of children aged 0-18 years who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or condition by giving initial instant financial assistance.  They aim to provide funds for the Children’s ward and the funds raised help equip the ward with the extras that make life a little easier and more fun when receiving long term care.

They have recently undertaken a project to brighten up a room at the Caroline Thorpe Children’s ward at North Devon District Hospital, remodelling and redecorating it to make it a warmer, friendly environment for children and their families. 

Care for Kids asked parents of children who have used this room for ideas and images that they could use to brighten up the space.  I was so honoured when they suggested my work for a theme of seaside photos and views.  The warm pastel colours and seaside theme were felt to be perfect.  Care for Kids approached me and asked whether they could use some of my images.   I was  absolutely delighted to help with this and was particularly pleased as the families had chosen my artwork.  It is always a pleasure to help and support local charities and Care for Kids are doing a wonderful job of providing care at what can be a very difficult time in a child's life.  .
